What we use today
Governome uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how the site is used — which pages get read, roughly how visitors found us, nothing more. We don't run advertising scripts and don't use analytics for personalization or ad targeting of any kind. The only other thing this site stores in your browser is your light/dark theme preference, saved in local storage (not a cookie) so it persists between visits — that preference never leaves your device.
Your choice comes first
Analytics is off by default for every visitor. We use Google Consent Mode v2: the analytics tag loads in a denied state and sets no cookie and stores no identifier until you actively accept it in the cookie banner shown on your first visit. Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting — both buttons are the same size, same prominence. You can change your mind at any time via “Cookie preferences” in the footer, on every page.
Essential cookies
We don't currently set any essential cookies. Contact and subscription forms on this site submit directly to our own server over a same-origin request, with no session cookie involved. If that changes — for example, if we add a feature that requires you to be signed in — we'll update this section to name the specific cookie and explain why it's necessary.
Your browser controls
You can withdraw analytics consent at any time from “Cookie preferences” in the footer, or clear local storage/cookies entirely in your browser's settings. Blocking local storage only affects whether your theme preference and consent choice are remembered between visits.
